POGO to Testify Before House Homeland Security Committee |

The hearing titled “Responsibility in Federal Homeland Security Contracting” will examine ways to improve the government’s methods of acquiring goods and services. Since fiscal year (FY) 2000, federal government contracting for goods and services has increased from $219 billion to almost $417 billion for FY06. The Department of Homeland Security contract spending is $15.7 billion for FY06, according to April 12, 2007 data from the Federal Procurement Data Service.
